Wasp Facts

wasps-3

Wasps make up a wide range of insects with over 30,000 species. They are most feared by people because of the fact that a number of species can sting when threatened. Although they look similar to bees, wasps can be distinguished by their pointed lower abdomen and thin center. Wasps have two pairs of wings and can be up to 1.5 inches in length. Another important species are Yellow Jackets which can be quite aggressive when their nest is threatened. Unlike bees wasp and yellow jackets have no barb on their stingers and can sting multiple times.
